Hi,

we have Sangfor HCI v. 6.7.0 I need to forward task log to a syslog server.
Is it possible? I've enabled this option and I've checked the connectivity to syslog server and all is fine but logs don't arrive.

Many thanks in advance.
Oliver

It is possible. for your issue, check that the correct IP address and port number are being used for the syslog server in Sangfor HCI's configuration.

Logs dont drive means check with your total EPS license and storage capacity. If it is capable of storing too many other logs.

By default it is not enable first so you must enable it manually. You can go to Menu > System > Logs and Alarms > Syslog Server  -  then input the IP address of the Log Server you want to receive the logs

Yes, it's possible to forward task logs from Sangfor HCI to a syslog server. Here are the steps to configure this feature:

  • Configure the Syslog server: First, you need to configure the Syslog server to accept logs from Sangfor HCI. Check that the syslog server is listening on the appropriate port (usually port 514) and that it is configured to accept logs from the Sangfor HCI.
  • Enable syslog forwarding in Sangfor HCI: In the Sangfor HCI web interface, navigate to System > Syslog and enable syslog forwarding. Enter the IP address of the syslog server and the port number for the syslog server.
  • Select the log level to be forwarded: Under the syslog forwarding section, select the log level you want to forward to the syslog server.
  • Save and test the configuration: Save the configuration and test it by generating a task log in the Sangfor HCI. Check the syslog server to ensure that the log has been forwarded successfully.

If you have enabled syslog forwarding and checked connectivity to the syslog server but logs are not arriving, you should check the following:
  • Firewall settings: Ensure that the firewall is not blocking traffic to the syslog server.
  • Log level: Check that the log level you selected for forwarding is appropriate and that the log is being generated at that level.
  • DNS resolution: If you are using a hostname for the syslog server, ensure that DNS resolution is working correctly.
  • Configuration errors: Double-check the configuration settings to ensure that there are no errors.

If none of these solutions work, you should consult the Sangfor HCI documentation or contact Sangfor support for further assistance.
