Bandwidth usage mismatch with virtual line

Denny Chanditya Lv2Posted 16 Nov 2022 10:48

Hello, i have IAM 5200 with OS 13.0.19
i have a problem with our internet link, we have 70Mbps connection but when i check on sangfor it only limit to 60Mbps.

Virtual line config on bandwidth management

Monitoring Traffic (it was stable on 60Mbps before)

and i setup the low bandwidth usage to 50%, for the high bandwidth usage i turn it off.

Is there any other configuration that i need to check about this issue?
i see our bandwdith management policy is not limited to 60Mbps, the default channel also limit at 70Mbps

There are 2 factors:
1. Type of connection either LAN or WIFI, usually WIFI connection decrease bandwidth
2. The ISP provided bandwidth is "up to", means it is not 100% they only give 80 to 90 percent of bandwidth

The output of IAM is accurate. Your ISP maybe is not 100% bandwidth as advertise

60 MBPS is accurate because it just read and have the average per second connection.

If your using wifi, there were some decrease in bandwidth

ISPs are offering bandwidth which are mostly not as advertised.

ISP doesn't give you the full 100 percent speed unless you have SLA with them.

The computation is base on the most closest internet gateway so it will vary and it depends on the ISP.

Call your ISP. The graph is just indicator of true speed.

you should not expect that you could use 70Mbps connection
