Video playback performance and Local Video Redirection

HMIT Lv1Posted 16 Jul 2022 18:28

Is there any docs for the setting for Local Video Redirection?
Since the video playback performance is poor, we would like to try if it would be improved if we enabled Local Video Redirection.

However, it seems that there's no noticeable difference. Are we missing something? We are using VDI clients for Windows to connect to the virtual desktop.

Also, it mentioned that it only works for Windows Media Player and a player called Storm Player. What is this Storm Player? We tried searching on the internet but there are quite a few named Storm Player.

p.s.
1. Any other tips for improving the playback performance are welcome.
2. Yes we are using 2D-desktop so we understood there is some hardware limitation for the performance. Just hoping this video redirection could help us.

Thanks.

Hi, the local video redirection is not supported for VDI Client ya. It is only applicable for Thin Client scenarios.
As a workaround, you can adjust the compression quality and FPS settings till you get an ideal/acceptable state.

Is this answer helpful?
