If clustered, then it must be of the same specs to the other node.

New node replacement need to consider below specs:
1. Compatible Processor or same CPU Family
2. Has at least the same or more memory than existing node
3. Disk types and sizes should be consistent with the existing node

The new node must have the same or better CPU, RAM, storage, and network ports as the old one. It should run the same Sangfor HCI version with updated firmware and compatible drivers. Assign the correct IP, sync it with the cluster, and ensure it performs at a similar level to other nodes. Backup data, apply the correct license, and do the replacement during planned downtime if needed.

  • The node must have the same or higher hardware specification than the faulty node (including CPU, RAM, number of hard disks and number of network ports).
  • Before the node replacement activities, the new Node must be installed with the same HCI firmware version as the HCI cluster.
  • Ensure the HCI new node's NIC card is identical to the node replaced (the same number of NIC cards, NIC negotiate rate).
  • Virtual Storage(VS) and management network interface must be disconnected before node replacement.
