Sangfor HCI for Remote Office

Newbie342581 Lv1Posted 28 Feb 2024 21:27

Hi There,

Can a Sangfor HCI deploy with 1 node only?

Usage is for the Remote Office Branch Office that only required to run less than 10VMs

Thanks.

Technically, Sangfor HCI can be deployed with a single node however, it is not recommended. Please see below:

Cons:
- A Single node has no HA, redundancy, and scalability
- Multiple node setup can utilize the benefits of HCI like resource pooling, simplified management, and improved efficiency.

Pros:
- basic workloads can be hosted on a single node
- deployment is easier and quicker compared to setting up multiple nodes or cluster.

Best Practice:
- always deploy at least 2 nodes to achieve benefits of HCI
- for production environment, at least 2 nodes will achieve HA, redundancy, and scalability which provides reliability and resilience for critical workloads.

You can deploy 1 node for HCI Sangfor, it's just that you don't have the benefit of pool storage, cpu, memory etc. You basically just setting up a normal pc server but a bit high spec than normal PC

HiHi,

A Sangfor HCI can deploy with one node, but it's not ideal for your Remote Office Branch Office with 10VMs due to resource bottlenecks and limited scalability. If you need more VMs or performance, consider scaling up or deploying a second node for better capacity and scalability.

Yes, it can be deployed with just one node, suitable for small setups with few VMs. But, this offers less redundancy compared to having multiple nodes.
