The image you sent shows an error message encountered while trying to boot a Red Hat 8.5 or 9.2 virtual machine (VM) on Sangfor HCI 6.9.1. Here's a breakdown of the error and potential solutions:

Error Analysis:

The errors indicate issues reading data blocks from the virtual disk image (most likely a .qcow2 file).
Specifically, there are errors reading blocks from both the squashfs filesystem and the EXT4 file system.
These errors prevent the VM from successfully mounting the root filesystem and booting up.

Potential Causes:

Corrupted VM Image: The .qcow2 image file you're using for Red Hat 8.5 or 9.2 might be corrupt. Try downloading a fresh copy of the image from a trusted source.
Storage Issues: There could be underlying issues with the Sangfor HCI storage subsystem where the VM image is stored.
Compatibility Issues: While less likely, there's a slight chance of incompatibility between Sangfor HCI 6.9.1 and Red Hat 8.5/9.2.

Troubleshooting Steps:

Verify Image Integrity: Download a fresh copy of the Red Hat 8.5 or 9.2 image file and try creating the VM again. You can use checksum tools (like md5sum or sha256sum) to verify the integrity of the downloaded file against the official checksum provided by Red Hat.
Check Storage Health: If the image download seems okay, look into the health of your Sangfor HCI storage. Consult Sangfor's documentation or support for recommendations on checking storage pool health and troubleshooting storage-related issues.
Test with a Different OS: Try creating a VM with a different Linux distribution (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS) to see if the boot issue is specific to Red Hat 8.5/9.2 or persists with other operating systems. This can help isolate the cause.
Consult Sangfor Support: If none of the above solutions work, it's recommended to contact Sangfor support. They can provide more specific guidance based on your environment and Sangfor HCI configuration.

hi, it seems an error related to red hat iso (that is mounted on dev/sr0). Try download it again and verify it before installing.

Hi,

You may want to check some considerations below:

1. check and ensure that the RedHat media file is not corrupted. You may try to download the ISO file directly from RedHat's official website to ensure authenticity.
2. check the VM creation settings in Sangfor HCI and make sure that resources like CPU, memory, storage, were allocated accordingly.
3. You may reachout to Sangfor support to validate the compatibility between Sangfor HCI 6.9.1 and RedHat 8.5/9.2 versions.

Please ensure that the virtual machine settings, such as CPU architecture and virtualization features, are compatible with the versions of Red Hat you're trying to install. Additionally, verify that the installation ISO files for Red Hat 8.5 and 9.2 are intact and correctly configured within the virtual machine settings.

Hi,

The erros are related to reading data from the ISO where you are trying to install the OS. Try anothers method to mount the ISO or to upload the ISO. (I remember to have this kind of issue when trying to upload ISO to servers with an VPN in the middle.)

Hope this helps.

To troubleshoot the boot error while testing Red Hat 8.5 and 9.2 on Sangfor HCI 6.9.1:

1. Ensure the hardware requirements are met for both Red Hat versions.
2. Verify the installation media (ISO) is compatible and not corrupted.
3. Check the BIOS settings to ensure they support booting from the desired device (e.g., CD/DVD, USB, or network).
4. Disable any security software temporarily, as they might interfere with the installation process.
5. Update the Sangfor HCI firmware and BIOS to the latest versions, ensuring compatibility with the Red Hat versions.
6. If possible, try installing a previous version of Red Hat on the Sangfor HCI to identify if the issue is specific to Red Hat 8.5 and 9.2.
