After installing vmTools into Windows2019 VM, I found the screen resolution became better, but I need to make the resolution of VM screen to be resized with the webpage while opening VM console.

I hope that to work like in the web console page of VM running in VMware ESXi.

Unfortunately, Sangfor HCI doesn't currently offer built-in functionality to automatically resize the VM console window based on the webpage size, similar to VMware ESXi's web console. However, there are a couple of workarounds you can try:

1. Manually Resize the Console Window:

This is the simplest option, but requires manual intervention. While the Sangfor VM console is open, you can click and drag the edges of the window to resize it according to your needs.

2. Use Fullscreen Mode (Temporary):

You can use the fullscreen mode for the Sangfor VM console by pressing the F11 key on your keyboard. This will maximize the console window, potentially offering a better view of the webpage. However, keep in mind that this is a temporary solution and requires exiting fullscreen mode (F11 again) to access other windows.

3. Explore Third-Party Tools (Experimental):

Some third-party tools like virtual machine managers might offer functionalities to automatically resize the console window based on specific triggers. However, using such tools requires additional research and potential compatibility checks with Sangfor HCI. It's recommended to proceed with caution and ensure the tool doesn't interfere with Sangfor VM operations.
Is this answer helpful?

You can change the resolution. Right click on the desktop > Display settings.

Thanks for your reply,

Changing the resolution via the screen of VM desktop is known

But I wish there is a way to make the resolution fill automatically with size of web page, like in VMware ESXi web console.

In order to achieve auto-fitting resolution for the VM web console, ensure VMware Tools is installed and updated within the Windows 2019 VM. Then, configure the VM's display settings to "Autofit guest" or "Fit guest Now" from the VMware Remote Console toolbar.

Hi,

The VM console experience will be improved by installing the vmTools

you may find the instruction below on how to resize the VM screen automatically thru the VMWare ESXi web console:
- VM Remote Console Settings:
  - In VM console menu, navigate to VMRC > Preferences (Windows) or VM Remote Console > Preferences (macOS).  For Linux, go to File > Remote Console Preferences.

- VM Window Resize Setting:
   - Under preferences window, locate the Display tab. then under the Display settings, find the VM Window Resize option. You may Select Autofit Guest to automatically resize the VM screen to fit the console window size.

hi, to enable the VM web console to automatically adjust its resolution, make sure that the VMware Tools are installed and up-to-date on your Windows 2019 VM. Following this, set the display settings of the VM to either “Autofit guest” or “Fit guest Now” via the VMware Remote Console toolbar. This will allow the VM screen size to automatically adapt to the console window size.

To accomplish this, you can attempt enabling the "Fit Guest Now" or "Fit Window Now" option. These options enable the VM console window to automatically adjust its resolution to align with the dimensions of the web browser window.

Hi,
You need to configure the following options:

Autofit window - Resize the application window to match the virtual machine display settings when the virtual machine display settings are changed.

Autofit guest - Change the virtual machine settings to match the application window when the application window is resized.

To enable dynamic screen resizing in the web console page of a Windows 2019 VM running in VMware ESXi after installing VMware Tools, ensure that the VM's display settings are configured to allow automatic screen resizing. Within the VM, open the display settings and enable options such as "Autofit Guest" or "Autosize" to allow the VM's screen resolution to adjust dynamically based on the size of the web console window. This should mirror the behavior experienced when accessing the VM through the VMware ESXi web console.

To have the VM screen resolution dynamically resize with the webpage when opening the VM console, you can follow these steps:

1.  Edit VM Display Settings:
   - Ensure that the VMware Tools are properly installed in the Windows 2019 VM.
   - Power off the VM and go to the VM settings in the VMware ESXi interface.

2.  Adjust VM Display Options:
   - Under "Display", configure the VM display settings.
   - Enable the "Autofit" and/or "Fit Guest Now" options. This allows the VM display to resize automatically based on the web console window size.

3.  Launch VM Console:
   - Open the VM console from the VMware ESXi web interface.
   - You should now see that the VM screen resolution adjusts according to the size of the web console window.

4.  Test and Verify:
   - Resize the web console window and observe if the VM screen resolution dynamically adjusts accordingly.
   - Test different window sizes to ensure that the resizing functionality is working as expected.
