Delete Interface on Sangfor IAG after add module 10G

Denny Chanditya Lv2Posted 12 Oct 2023 11:41

Hi all,

is there any ways to delete interface on IAG?
we have a 2 module 4x10G, we add to the device, then we want to setup the bridge deployment mode.
then we check the added module is missing from the deployment mode

the old module is 4x1G and 2x10G, when we put it back again to the device, the port 12-15 is showing on the deployment mode, but the 2x10G is not show an the interface is increased until 39(before is 37).

we was tried to the other device(same model) that the 2x10G is show on the deployment mode.

Thanks,
Denny

Log in to Sangfor IAG: Access the Sangfor IAG's web-based management interface using a web browser. You'll need to log in with administrative credentials.

Navigate to Interface or Network Configuration: The specific location for interface configuration may vary based on the software version and model. Typically, you'll find it under "Network" or "Interfaces."

Select the Interface to Remove: Locate the interface you wish to delete. In your case, the module added should be listed here.

Remove or Delete the Interface: There should be an option to delete or remove the selected interface/module. This option may be represented as a trash can icon or a "Delete" button. Click this to remove the module.

Confirm the Deletion: You might be asked to confirm the deletion. Be sure you want to delete the interface/module before confirming.

Save or Apply Changes: After confirmation, save or apply the changes to update the configuration.

Reboot or Restart: Depending on the device and configuration changes, you may need to reboot the Sangfor IAG for the changes to take effect. This is often prompted or automated in the configuration interface.

Open a text editor and the Sangfor IAG configuration file.
Locate and delete the section for the interface you wish to eliminate.
Close the text editor after saving the configuration file.
Sangfor IAG should be restarted.

A word of caution: Deleting interfaces may interfere with network connectivity. Before you remove any interfaces, make sure you have a backup strategy in place.

On a Sangfor IAG, there are a few ways to remove interfaces.

Approach 1:

Open the Sangfor IAG online interface and log in.
Select Interfaces from Configuration > Network.
Click Delete after selecting the interface you wish to remove.
To confirm, click OK.

Create an SSH connection to your IAG device and access the CLI if you prefer that option. To view all interfaces and find the one you want to remove, use commands like "show interfaces". The interface can then be deleted by using the proper command, such as "delete interface [interface_name]". The syntax should be used with caution because it may change depending on how your device is set up. After deletion, use commands like "write memory" or "save config" to save the configuration changes.

If you are unsure about any step, always refer to your device's manual or get in touch with the manufacturer's assistance. Changing the network setup without the necessary understanding might cause your network services to break.

You may visit the device's management interface using a web browser or command line interface (CLI) to remove an interface on your IAG device. Begin by entering your login information and going to the "Interfaces" or "Network Configuration" section of the online interface. Find the particular interface you wish to eliminate, then utilize the available option to do so. Make sure you confirm the action and then save or apply the modifications.

- To access the web interface, input the Sangfor IAG device's IP address.
- Select Network > Interfaces to access the network or interface settings. nonetheless, it could change based on the firmware version in use now.
- Find the list of options and choose the interface (LAN, WAN, or VPN) that you wish to remove.
- Remove the user interface
- Save the modifications, then do so.

CLI
- use putty, SecureCRT, or another terminal emulator to connect to Sangfor IAG's CLI over SSH or a console cable.
- Enter the credentials to log in.
- Type "show interfaces" to see every interface that is accessible, then "delete interface [interface_name]" to confirm.
- type "write memory" to preserve the settings changes.
- logoff when finished

Sometimes, the management interface limitations or issues are resolved in newer firmware or software updates. Consider checking if there is a firmware update available for your Sangfor IAG device. Applying an update may provide you with the ability to remove interfaces.

Some network devices, including Sangfor IAG, provide a command-line interface for advanced configuration. You can access the device via SSH or Telnet and use command-line commands to modify the configuration. Consult the Sangfor IAG documentation or reach out to Sangfor support for the specific commands related to interface removal.
