HiHi,

Windows has a Native IPSec VPN Client - Windows has a built-in VPN client that supports IPSec IKEv1 and IKEv2-based VPNs. It is natively integrated into Windows and provides IPSec connectivity.

To configure an IPSec VPN connection on Windows 10, you can follow these steps:

Setting up an IPSec VPN connection on Windows involves using the built-in VPN client or third-party VPN clients like Shrew Soft VPN Client or SoftEther VPN Client. For the built-in client, you can access it through Network & Internet Settings, add a new VPN connection by providing the necessary server details, and then connect through the system tray network icon. Third-party clients can be used as alternatives, but compatibility with Sangfor NGAF should be verified with Sangfor or the client's support.

Configuring an IPSec VPN server in Sangfor NGAF generally requires accessing the Sangfor NGAF web interface and navigating to the VPN or IPSec VPN configuration section. Here, you create a new VPN connection by specifying details such as VPN type (IPSec), authentication methods, and IP addressing. IPSec settings, including encryption algorithms and IKE parameters, should be configured. User authentication methods, such as usernames/passwords or certificates, are set up based on security requirements. Additionally, firewall rules and routing settings may need configuration to allow VPN traffic through the Sangfor NGAF device.

After configuring the VPN, it's essential to test the connection from a Windows client to ensure everything works as intended. If any issues arise, referring to Sangfor NGAF documentation or seeking support from Sangfor would provide accurate and detailed assistance tailored to your specific configuration and version.

OpenVPN is free and open source. Although it may also be used to set up IPsec-based VPN, it is generally recognized for SSL-based VPN solutions.

Visit the Shrew Soft VPN Client website (https://www.shrew.net/download/vpn) and download the client for Windows.

OpenVPN: OpenVPN is a popular open-source VPN solution that uses SSL/TLS for encryption. It's not IPSec, but it's worth mentioning as an alternative if your VPN server supports OpenVPN.

SoftEther VPN Client: While not an exclusively IPSec client, SoftEther VPN Client is an open-source VPN client that supports multiple VPN protocols, including L2TP, OpenVPN, and IPSec. It has a user-friendly GUI and is suitable for both beginners and advanced users.

Libreswan: Libreswan is an open-source IPSec implementation for Linux, but it provides a Windows port called "Libreswan for Windows." It's command-line-based and suitable for those comfortable with configuring IPSec connections manually.
