Dear Partners and Customers,

Starting from Sangfor Endpoint Secure 3.7.12R EN (including Endpoint Secure 6.0.4EN), Sangfor will introduce a change to the existing licensing expiry period. Prior to 3.7.12R EN, for example, if a user purchased 1000 endpoints for a period of one year, and only protects 500 endpoints daily, the expiry of their protection will be two years from the date of purchase. The expiry is calculated using a “Point-based” approach. Such approach while gives users flexibility in deploying endpoint protection progressively, it causes issues of fluctuating expiry date resulting in users not clearly knowing when the expiry will be. Furthermore, the dates will not align correctly with the contract and affect Support terms.

In this change, the expiry of the protection will be set according to the contract date, into a “fixed contract” expiry. With a fixed contract expiry, user will clearly know their period of protection and when they should renew their contract.

It is important to know that when the change occur, Sangfor will not make any changes to already utilized period. For existing users with remaining period of protection, we will recompute the new protection expiry date based on the remaining points over the total number of endpoints purchased in the contract. Users who utilizes the full number of protected endpoints as in their contract will not see any change of expiry period. Users who utilizes a lesser number of protected endpoints than their contract will see a reduced period of protection expiry.

If you have any questions about this change, please approach your Sangfor salesperson or Sangfor Support for assistance.

Thank you.

Sorry, what do you mean about "

Users who utilizes a lesser number of protected endpoints than their contract will see a reduced period of protection expiry."

it's really confused. I used lesser than contract, protection expired will be reduced?
