About reset firewall and pwd

Newbie840234 Lv1Posted 24 Sep 2018 10:22

I've some questions.

1. If can't access NGAF due to the blocking of https service on both Internal and WAN (may be setup wrongly), how can we access NGAF to enbale https service?  I mean can't access it through lan and WAN to open https://NGAF WebUI).

If need to reset firewall for this issue, how can we reset it to factory setting (can't access WebUI)?

Can we access it through Console port?

2. How to reset admin password if forgot or changed by someone?

Hi,
For the first issue of unable to access WebUI there is an approach below you can try:
1) Kindly download Sangfor Firmware Updater and install in a PC. (PC has to connect directly to the NGAF port)
2) Search for the IP and see whether the IP you inserted is correct. If it is different IP shown compare with the one you insert then it might be user input error.
3) Else, kindly send an email to our technical support for further investigation.

For the second issue of How to reset admin password, you can try with this solution :
Restore password with USB Drive:
1. Create an empty txt file named reset-password.txt or Copy the reset-password.txt file to the root directory of U Disk;
2. Insert the U disk, restart the device;
3. When the device can normally log on the WebUI, pull out the U disk;
4. See the results of the U disk file reset-password.log,If the recovery is successful, record the restored console password in this file, otherwise the log is recorded the recovery failure information.

Notes:
1.This TXT file can be directly on the windows system to establish a empty TXT file, the file name to reset-password.txt;
2.The txt file must be in the root directory of the U disk;
3.U disk can be single or multiple partitions. A single partition of the U disk format must be FAT32; multi partition U disk must put the txt file in the first partition, and the first partition format must be FAT32.

Is this answer helpful?

hi,

1. Is the Zone of MGT port(eth0) part of the blocking of https ? if not u can access it via MGT port
2. you can reset password via a USB FlashDrive, format it as Fat32 then create a file in notepad named reset-password.txt

Hey,

If IP is correct try ping if successful  then delete your browser history and cache and then try again.
I hope this will work. If not then you can reset your device.

To hard reset your device follow these steps :
- You can use a cross cable to restore factory defaults except by Updater,
Steps:
1. Using the power button to shutdown the IAM device.
2. Prepared a cross cable.
3. Using the cross cable to connect to any two interfaces of  IAM device。(Attention: The two interface can't be bypass interfaces.)
4. Finally starting up the IAM device and waiting for 5 minutes.

Thanks.

Hi,
Thanks for all reply.

For the first issue that can't access WebUI through https

Ref to the manual and Daniel See replied.

1. download Sangfor Firmware Updater and install in a PC which connects the MANAGE (ETH0) direclty.

2. run Sangfor Firmware Updater and search the IP
3. After the SANGFOR NGFW upgrade system is connected to the NGFW, then Enabling technical support tools by pressing F10 or Ctrl+Shift+F10 (Don't really need to do upgrade firmware)
4. Then can use Restore Backup to backup there.

These can solve the issue and restore last backup that setup anything wrong on it. Right?
