I have encountered an issue after the machine restart the dhcp does not given ip address with in one hour. what would be the possible issue for this.

DHCP server availability: Verify that the DHCP server is running and available on the network. Check that the server's IP address is correct and reachable from the network.

Network connectivity: Ensure that the client machine can communicate with the DHCP server over the network. Check the network connectivity and firewall settings on both the client and server machines.

Lease duration: Check the lease duration settings for the DHCP scope. If the lease duration is too long, it may take longer for the DHCP server to assign IP addresses to new devices. Try reducing the lease duration to see if it improves the situation.

DHCP server logs: Check the DHCP server logs for any errors or warnings that may indicate why the server is not assigning IP addresses.

There is a connectivity issue in your NGAF thats why it is not able to communicate with the DHCP server to obtain IP address

1. IP address conflict: It is possible that there is an IP address conflict on the network. Check the DHCP logs on the firewall for any IP address conflicts and resolve them.
2. Firewall configuration issue: The firewall may be misconfigured, causing the DHCP server to fail. Check the firewall's configuration settings and ensure that they are correct.

If the Sangfor NGAF firewall's DHCP server does not give out IP addresses within one hour of a machine restart, there may be several possible issues to consider for example, The DHCP server service may not be running on the firewall. Check the DHCP server status on the firewall and start it if necessary.Also, The DHCP scope may not be configured properly on the firewall. Check the DHCP scope settings on the firewall and make sure it includes the range of IP addresses that the clients need. Another thing is the DHCP lease time may be set to a very long duration, and the clients are unable to obtain new IP addresses. Try shortening the lease time on the firewall.

DHCP Server Configuration: Check if the DHCP server is configured correctly. Ensure that the DHCP scope, subnet mask, lease duration, and exclusion ranges are set correctly. Make sure that the DHCP server is enabled and running.

Possible reason;
1) DHCP not properly configured
2) Connectivity issue between DHCP Server and device.
3) Improper shut down.

This issue occurs only the when the server unexpectedly shut down due to power loss. and even sometimes in this condition dhcp work but offer dhcp to some clients only, it doest not offer to all, or most of the time I noticed that it does not offer a single dhcp. And when I restart the server the issue resolves, some times after two restarts.
