Backup retention with two NAS 5

VZ Lv1Posted 05 May 2021 16:33

Hi,

for our backups, we have two NFS storage (NAS1 and NAS2).
What we want:
In NAS1:
  + every daily backup of the latest week.
  + every weekly backup of the latest month.
In NAS2:
  + every monthly backup of the latest year.
  + every yearly backup of the latest 10s years.

What we done:
+ Enable periodic full backup
+ backup retention policy
  + Recent  7 days -> Retain all
  + Over 7 days to 1 months -> Retain one Every week
+ Archive backups to other datastores -> NAS2
+ Archives will be retained in the following ways:
  + Last 12 month(s), retain all archives;
  + Recent 12 months to 120 months, retain one archive each year;
  + Delete all archives preserved for over 120 months.

Are our choices correct?

Thanks in advance.
