Issue Description

Password based authentication was configured under bridge mode. It is found that the when accessing HTTP or HTTPS website it cannot display the authentication page. Manually enter http://acip can display normally.

Handling Process

1. When accessing any HTTP and HTTPS website in the browser cannot display the authentication page, but manually enter http://acip can display normally.
2.Check whether the DNS and HTTPS redirection is ticked under [Users] > [Advanced] section.

3. Check the firewall rules and found that there is a firewall policy that is rejecting the DNS service for an end device IP, and the direction is LAN-WAN.

4. After disabling the firewall rule, the authentication page can prompt out normally after entering the HTTP or HTTPS website on the browser.

Root Cause

The firewall rule rejects the DNS service.

Solution

The firewall rule rejects the DNS service and solved after disabling the firewall rule.
