Anyone else treating aSAN “sub-health” disk warnings as a real signal, not just noise?

I am George Fady, I am a technical support engineer in Sangfor.

aSAN’s storage forecasting module runs machine learning / deep learning models over SMART data, performance parameters, and log history to predict disk bad sectors, remaining capacity, and SSD lifetime - before the disk actually fails. In theory that should mean fewer “the disk just died” surprises.

In practice, I still see sub-health warnings get dismissed as noise because the disk is technically still working when the alert fires. My question for the community: how are you actually validating these predictions in your environment? Are you proactively replacing disks flagged sub-health before they fail, or waiting to see if the prediction plays out first? And has anyone had a sub-health warning turn out to be a false alarm - what did that look like?
