EPP Agents Unlicensed Bug Status

Newbie371447 Lv1Posted 2026-Jul-14 10:46

A few months ago, we upgraded the console from ENR2 to ENR4. We noticed after that the previously installed agents of ENR2, many of it become unlicensed@offline with a duration of between more 1++ and 3++.

And now one of the engineers recently tested on a PC which shown this bug, where he reinstalled the agent back, the PC remains unlicensed and status offline even though the pc is online in real time.

Previously, we already issued a ticket to the technical support regarding this issue and also for the upgrade status, and their response is that this is expected behaviour for ENR4.

Does anyone face this issue? It would help if anyone knew how to fix it since this issue is becoming common for our sites.

Hi,
The ENR4 mechanism uses a different agent license or registration than ENR2. This mechanism will need to be re-registered on a new console or reinstalled using the ENR4 installer.

Verify the license synchronization database.
Check for duplicate Agent IDs/Device GUIDs.
Review the agent registration service on the ENR4 console.
Confirm whether there are any known ENR4 patches or hotfixes addressing offline/unlicensed agent behavior after migration.

Check the database for licensing synchronisation.
Look for duplicate Device GUIDs and Agent IDs.
Examine the ENR4 console's agent registration feature.
Verify whether any known ENR4 hotfixes or patches address offline or unlicensed agent behaviour upon migration.

HI, make sure you have opened port 4430, 8083,84120, and 443 these ports are used to communicate between ES manager and the client.
if your ES manager is on premise, set NAT these ports to ES manager's local IP address.

We encountered similar situations after upgrading from ENR2 to ENR4, where some legacy agents remained Offline and Unlicensed even though the endpoints were online. In several cases, simply reinstalling the agent did not resolve the issue because the old endpoint record was still registered in the console

I would recommend verifying the following:

Ensure the endpoint can communicate with the ENR4 console without any network or firewall restrictions.
Confirm the agent is configured to connect to the correct ENR4 server.
Remove any stale or duplicate endpoint records from the console before reinstalling the latest ENR4 agent.
Verify that sufficient licenses are available and that the endpoint is eligible for license assignment.
Review the agent logs for any registration or licensing errors.

If Sangfor Technical Support has confirmed that this is expected behavior after the upgrade, it would be helpful to request an official migration procedure, cleanup utility, or hotfix to simplify the transition for existing deployments. Since this issue appears to affect multiple environments, additional guidance from the product team would benefit many customers.

Please let us know if you find a permanent solution, as it would be valuable for the community.

Compared to ENR2, the ENR4 method employs a distinct agent licence or registration. It will be necessary to either reinstall this mechanism using the ENR4 installer or re-register it on a new console.
