Link Aggregation (also called Bonding or Port Aggregation) combines multiple physical Ethernet ports into one logical interface in order to:
  • Increase bandwidth
  • Provide link redundancy
  • Improve reliability

Best practice between Sangfor and UniFi is LACP (802.3ad).

Requirements Hardware & Software
  • Sangfor NGFW (NGAF / NGFW / aTrust series)
  • UniFi Switch (managed via Unifi OS)
  • Minimum 2 free Ethernet ports on each device

Preconditions
  • Ports must:

    • Have the same speed and duplex
    • Be connected to the same UniFi switch

  • Ports must not be assigned or used before aggregation

Configuration on Sangfor NGFW
  • Open browser → Login to Sangfor NGFW
  • Go to: Network → Interfaces → Anggregate Interfaces
  • Click Add / Create
  • Complete the fields as shown in the example below.
  • Ok

Configuration on UniFi Switch

Login to UniFi OS Go to: Unifi Devices → Select Switch → Port managerComplete the fields as shown in the example below.
Apply Changes

Test Redundancy
Disconnect one Ethernet cable Network should:
  • Stay online
  • Show reduced bandwidth (but no disconnection)
