How to upgrade the VDC in cluster

Newbie996015 Lv1Posted Oct-10-2025 12:22

In the VDC in the cluster setting, 1 is dispatcher and the 2 is the real serve role, this time upgrade is required. I would like to know can I upgrade the VDC one by one and lead to min downtime since as I know if the vdi client cannot direct connect the remote desktop(let's say the client is from external network). There should be a dependency on the the VDC for session display loading. So I suppose there should be an downtime. But my question is how can I have a better upgrade flow to minumize the downtime.
I suppose the flow is:

1.disconnect the nic0 of real server role of VDC
2.go to real server to decluster
3. Upgrade the real server
4. disconnect nic0 of dispatcher and re-connect nic0 of real server  (this will lead to downtime)
5. Enable the cluster setting in the real server
6. Check the new upgrade version is able to provide the vdi session to users
7. Go to dispatcher to decluster and upgrade
8. Enable the cluster setting in the dispatcher
9. sp patch upgrade for the cluster
