I saw the another brand vdi can only depend on the HTML for vdi resource accessl why sangfor still need to install the client when using the vdi resource no matter is remote app or remote desktop. Like below.

HiHi,

The reason Sangfor VDI requires installing a dedicated client for accessing VDI resources—whether remote apps or remote desktops—while some other brands rely only on HTML5 browser access, relates to the enhanced functionality and performance Sangfor delivers through its client software.

Key points explaining Sangfor's client installation requirement:

  • The Sangfor VDI client provides full-featured access including USB redirection, audio, multi-factor authentication, and better integration with endpoint devices that a simple HTML5 web client cannot fully support.

  • The client improves the user experience with proprietary transmission protocols and GPU technology to ensure smooth performance even on slower networks or high-latency conditions.

  • Client software enables higher security levels with endpoint data protection mechanisms and comprehensive control over access and user behavior, which is more limited or infeasible via browser-only connections.

  • While HTML5 clients offer convenience by eliminating installation, they usually only provide basic, limited functionality, and may not support all advanced features Sangfor offers for business continuity, security, and seamless workflow.

  • Sangfor focuses on providing a secure, high-performance, and scalable desktop virtualization experience, best achieved with a native-installed client that can interact deeply with the host system and peripherals.

In summary, Sangfor opts for installing a dedicated client to deliver superior performance, functionality, and security beyond what an HTML5-only approach can offer. The HTML5 client might still be available as an option but with restricted features compared to the full client deployment.
