In order to exclude Windows Update from the captive portal, you need to configure your captive portal system to whitelist specific URLs or IP addresses associated with Windows Update. This typically involves adding the update-related domains (such as windowsupdate.microsoft.com, *.microsoft.com, or *.windowsupdate.com) to the exception list in your captive portal settings. By doing this, any traffic to these domains will bypass the captive portal, allowing Windows updates to download and install without requiring user authentication.

HI, you can perform a dedicated application control policy on your ngaf setting on application type Windows update. You can specify on from secion of the policy the ip range of your clients that connects on internet using a captive portal.
