When the Next-Generation Advanced Firewall (NGAF) firmware becomes corrupted, you must use the Emergency Recovery Mode to reset it. After turning off the NGAF device, press and hold the "Reset" button for ten seconds to allow the device to power up. The moment the LED lights begin to blink, release the button. The Emergency Recovery Mode will be activated. To get back to the factory settings, access the device using a serial terminal or SSH connection, then run the command `reset}.

Hello, do you mean that these virtual machines—whose password-protected virtual bios settings—are HP appliances? If so, a lot of virtual hardware will change when they migrate to HCI (even the virtual bios is different). Before going to an HCI, I advise you to clone one of these virtual machines on your ESXI environment and try removing the virtual bios lock.

if the firmware is corrupted then only option is to reset it to factory default with a pen drive and a valid FW version.

If the Sangfor device is not pingable from the management network, you can reset it by creating an empty text file named reset-password.txt in the root directory of a USB drive, inserting it into the USB port of the NGAF, and restarting the device. Once the NGAF logs onto the Web User Interface, remove the USB drive and check the reset-password.txt file for the restored password.

To reset the NGAF (Next-Generation Advanced Firewall) firmware when it's corrupted, you'll need to use the Emergency Recovery Mode. Power cycle the NGAF device and immediately press and hold the "Reset" button for 10 seconds while booting up. Release the button when the LED lights start blinking. This will enter the Emergency Recovery Mode. Use a serial console or SSH connection to access the device and execute the command `reset` to restore the factory settings.
