Failed to copy Single Sign-On script from AD to Users

Issue Description

In this scenario, user Script Single Sign-On Authentication Failed and not able to access some of the resources.

Handling Process

1. First can check on the logon logs under:-
C:\Users\{USER}\AppData\Roaming\.logon\login.log and can found out failed to copy logon.exe on the logs.


2. On AD Server try to execute commnad gpudate /force.


3. After that, it showed "Windows Management Instrumentation(WMI)" and the service name "winmgmt" has been disable or having others error.

4. Next, go to Services and make sure winmgmt Service is running and Startup type is set to Automatic.


5. After that, successfully to execute commnad gpudate /force.



6. From the log we can see now it copied logon.exe successfully.


Notes: On the domain users PC users have to logoff Windows and login again to take effect.



Root Cause

winmgmt service has been disable or having others error.

Solution

Go to Services and make sure winmgmt Service is running and Startup type is set to Automatic.
