Issue Description

Windows Server 2008R2 black screen after migrated to aCloud or required to take long time on black screen in order to boot into the system.

Handling Process

After powered on the VM, it showed only black screen without any information.
Check the configuration of the VM such as CPU and memory.

Solution

Edit the VM configuration to make sure the size of the memory is larger than the multiplication of the number of NIC and CPU.

As shown in the screenshot above, the VM had configured with 1 NIC, 4GB of Memory and 4 Cores of CPU.
Number of NIC(1) X Number of CPU Cores(4) = 4 which same with the size of the memory 4GB.
As it is recommended to have larger memory size than the multiplication of the number of NIC and CPU, change the memory size to 8GB.

Suggestions

For other version of Windows system with black screen, can change the configuration based on the formula.
Memory size > number of NIC X number of CPU
