Packet Fragmentation Causes Bandwidth Management To Not Work

Issue Description

The Parent Channel is configured to limit the network speed to 8Mb/s, which actually reaches 50Mb/s.

Handling Process

1.The network speed is not valid for a single user, and the data packet is captured for analysis, and the data is found to pass through the device in both directions.
2.After analyzing the data packet, it is found that the data packet is fragmented and transmitted during the transmission.

Root Cause

The data packet is fragmented and transmitted, which causes the IAM to fail to identify the data packet. In normal network environment, there should be no fragmented data. Therefore, the MTU of the network port of a device on the internal network is too small, resulting in fragmentation of the data packet.

Solution

1. Change the MTU of the network port of the IAM to a small size.
2. You can also find out which device’s network port MTU is too small and modify it normally.
