EduardoOliveira Lv1Posted 2026-Apr-16 10:13

I have a customer that currently has a self service portal for each tenant of him where he make available a series of catalog items. The catalog items are OS flavours with some specific specs.

When some user request one of this catalog items a series of integration start together customizing the vm and also doing all the integration with CMDB, Zabbix and so . Curerntly he accomplish it using Aria Automation and Aria Orchestrator.

Any of sangfor products offer this capability? How close can i get of this solution using sangfor portfolio

Yes, Sangfor's portfolio offers products that provide a comparable experience. The core of the solution is the Sangfor Cloud Platform (SCP), which is built on the Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI).

The table below provides a direct feature comparison between Sangfor and VMware:

Feature: Multi-Tenant Portal
Sangfor Equivalent: SCP's Self-Service Portal
How It Works: Each tenant gets an isolated portal where they can independently manage their own virtual resources (VMs, networks, images) without interfering with others.

Feature: Service Catalog
Sangfor Equivalent: Image & VM Catalog
How It Works: Admins can define standardized OS images and VM specifications (vCPU, RAM, storage) that tenants can select and deploy.

Feature: Approval Workflow
Sangfor Equivalent: Workflow Customization
How It Works: Administrators can define custom approval flows for resource requests to align with your organizational structure before VMs are provisioned.

Feature: Automation & Orchestration
Sangfor Equivalent: API + Post-Provisioning Scripts
How It Works: SCP has a RESTful API for integrating with third-party automation tools. You can also use scripts during VM deployment to handle tasks like guest OS customization and CMDB registration.

Feature: CMDB Integration
Sangfor Equivalent: Custom via API/Script
How It Works: This is achieved by using the SCP RESTful API or running a post-provisioning script inside the VM to update your existing CMDB.

Feature: Zabbix Integration
Sangfor Equivalent: Native SNMP & API Support
How It Works: Sangfor HCI natively supports SNMP, allowing Zabbix to collect performance metrics like CPU and memory usage. You can also use its RESTful API for more detailed metrics.

Feature: Ecosystem Compatibility
Sangfor Equivalent: OpenStack-Compatible API
How It Works: SCP provides an OpenStack-compatible API, enabling integration with other cloud management platforms without code changes.

The Sangfor solution is a strong, integrated alternative for replacing the VMware Aria suite. While VMware's product is known for its extensive third-party ecosystem, Sangfor's SCP is a more tightly integrated platform that bundles compute, storage, networking, and security into a single, cost-effective stack.

If customer wants simple catalog + provisioning:
Sangfor SCP is a strong fit.

If customer wants enterprise-grade orchestration across many systems:
Use SCP + external automation platform.

Examples:

Ansible AWX
ServiceNow
n8n
Power Automate
Custom Python portal
