Q1: When a failover happens, what can the aDR customer do if he accesses the service by IP address?
Q2: Which categories can be divided from the VMs in the on-premises site?
Q3: What key action can be done when the DR link has small bandwidth, but the backup data volume is great?
Q4: Is it possible to use HDD/SSD to store the seed files?

Q1: Provide a channel to access the new IP address.

Q2: VMs protected by aDR and VMs without aDR protection.

Q3: Using replica seeds.

Q4: No. by default there is not free disk slot in the HCI nodes of MCS, so it is suggested to use portable storage device with USB interface to store and transport the seed files.

Congratulations to the following participants on getting coins!

Q1: When a failover happend the customer get the resources from the scondary site and as the  disaster recover the customer site move back the primary site. Also if any failover happen the sconday vpn take place of the primary vpn.
Q2: xxxxx
Q3: MOVE BACKUP LINK TO PRIMARY
Q4: NOPE

Q1: When recovery at the secondary site or migration to the primary site is implemented, the customer needs to act immediately to keep the accessibility of the service for the end users.
Q2: The VMs in the on-premises site can be divided into two categories: VMs protected by aDR and those VMs without aDR protection
Q3: To solve this problem, you can use replica seeds to export VM data to a disk (such as removable hard drive, HDD, or low-capacity NAS) and transmit the replica seeds to the secondary site and import the data. Only incremental data on the replica seeds needs to be transmitted later.
Q4: it is not recommended to use HDD/SSD to store the seed files.

Q1. Provide a channel to access the new IP address.
Q2. VMs protected by aDR and those VMs without aDR protection.
VM Categories        VM Dependency
VMs protected by aDR        1. The boot order and data access direction between them.
VMs without aDR protection        1. Is there any data access to VM protected by aDR or vice versa.

Q3. When the DR link has small bandwidth, but the backup data volume is great, online replication takes a longer time than offline backup. Therefore, using replica seeds is recommended.

Q4. It is not recommended to use HDD/SSD to store the seed files. And it is suggested to use portable storage device with USB interface to store and transport the seed files, as there is available USB interface on the HCI nodes of MCS.

Q4:it is possible but it is recomended to use portable drive

Q1: If an aDR customer accesses the service by IP address when a failover happens, they need to provide a channel to access the new IP address. This ensures that users can reach the service at the new location post-failover.

Q2: The VMs in the on-premises site can be divided into two categories:

1. VMs protected by aDR - These VMs are included in the disaster recovery solution.
2. VMs without aDR protection - These VMs are not included in the disaster recovery solution.

Understanding the dependency relationships between these categories is crucial for effective failover and service continuity.

Q3: When the DR link has small bandwidth but the backup data volume is great, using replica seeds is recommended. This involves exporting VM data to a disk (such as a removable hard drive or low-capacity NAS) and transmitting the replica seeds to the secondary site for import. After that, only incremental data needs to be transmitted later.

Q4: By default, it is not recommended to use HDD/SSD to store the seed files, as there are generally no free disk slots in the HCI nodes of MCS. Instead, it is suggested to use a portable storage device with a USB interface to store and transport the seed files, since there is a USB interface available on the HCI nodes of MCS.

Q1: The customer can choose to connect to MCS site where the plachelder VPC are by using a ssl vpn. ON MCS site, the placeholder VPC can have different ip segments assigned to avoid network ip conflict. On some cases, the VPC on MCS Site can have different ip than production VMS but on same networks too.
Q2: The VMs in the on-premises site can be divided into two categories: VMs protected by aDR and those VMs without aDR protection
Q3: When the DR link has small bandwidth, but the backup data volume is great, online replication takes a longer time than offline backup. Therefore, using replica seeds is recommended
Q4: Please pay attention, by default there not free disk slot in the HCI nodes of MCS, so it is not recommended to use HDD/SSD to store the seed files. And it is suggested to use portable storage device with USB interface to store and transport the seed files, as there is available USB interface on the HCI nodes of MCS. If you decided to use Seed files,  better inform and confirm with HQ team in advance.
