Hi, so just so u know that 6.7.0 n below and 6.8.0 and above are totally using different kernel version. So downtime is guaranteed. So there are 3 steps that I recommend:

1st step
- Install aDeploy in the sangfor community, it's a tool that runs a pre-check before upgrade. There will be like a preview like which version u wanna upgrade to which version and it will show the upgrade path. It will also check is the current server conditions either it can or can't run the latest firmware. So better u run the pre-check 1st.

2nd step
- log case to sangfor support team just in case cuz in ur situation the firmware gap is to large. Verify with them after the pre-check is done just in case and they will guide u on how to proceed with the upgrade smoothly

3rd step
- So let's say the pre-check is all good. So you'll need to upgrade the SCP 1st to the latest version. Then u will proceed with the HCI upgrade. Noted#### verify the version SCP carefully as not all version can manage all HCI version. U mentioned u want to upgrade the SCP 6.10.R1, I don't remember either it can manage the HCI 6.10.0_R2 as the SCP must always be a same or higher version of the HCI in order to manage it. Check the release note or guideline

1. Ensure SCP & HCI licenses are valid before upgrading. Expired licenses may block the upgrade process.
2. Verify that SCP 6.2 & HCI 6.2 can be directly upgraded to SCP 6.10R1 & HCI 6.10R2 using Sangfor official upgrade path

and then download lates firmware and precheck package on self services -> download -> SCP/HCI

Upgrading your SCP and HCI versions is a significant task, but with careful planning and execution, it can be done smoothly. Here’s a general procedure and the prerequisites you should check before upgrading:

Upgrade Procedure
Backup:

Ensure you have a complete backup of your current SCP and HCI configurations and data.

Verify the integrity of the backups.

Check Compatibility:

Verify that your current hardware and software are compatible with SCP 6.10R1 and HCI 6.10R21
.

Download Upgrade Packages:

Download the necessary upgrade packages from the official Sangfor website1
.

Pre-Upgrade Checks:

Check the current version and model information of your deployment.

Ensure that all devices are configured correctly and are in a healthy state2
.

Upgrade SCP:

Follow the upgrade path recommended by Sangfor. This usually involves upgrading to intermediate versions before reaching the target version2
.

Upload the SCP upgrade package to the system and initiate the upgrade process.

Upgrade HCI:

Similarly, follow the recommended upgrade path for HCI.

Upload the HCI upgrade package and initiate the upgrade process1
.

Post-Upgrade Checks:

Verify that all components are running the new versions.

Check the configurations and ensure that everything is functioning as expected.

Perform any additional configurations required for the new versions3
.

Prerequisites
Hardware Compatibility:

Ensure that your hardware meets the requirements for SCP 6.10R1 and HCI 6.10R21
.

Software Compatibility:

Verify that your current software versions are compatible with the new versions3
.

Network Configuration:

Ensure that your network configuration supports the new versions.

Check for any required changes in network settings3
.

Maintenance Window:

Schedule a maintenance window to perform the upgrade.

Inform all stakeholders about the planned upgrade and expected downtime2
.

Readiness Checks:

Run readiness checks to ensure that your system is prepared for the upgrade.

Check for any running tasks or processes that might interfere with the upgrade2
.

By following these steps and ensuring that all prerequisites are met.

Upgrading your Sangfor SCP and HCI cluster is a critical task that requires careful planning. Here's a general procedure and checklist to guide you through the process:

Upgrade Procedure
Backup Configuration and Data:

Ensure you have a full backup of your current SCP and HCI configurations.

Verify that the backup is stored securely and is accessible.

Check Compatibility:

Confirm that your current hardware and software versions are compatible with SCP 6.10R1 and HCI 6.10R2.

Download Upgrade Packages:

Obtain the official upgrade packages for SCP 6.10R1 and HCI 6.10R2 from Sangfor's support portal.

Upgrade SCP:

Begin with the SCP upgrade. Follow the step-by-step instructions provided in the Sangfor documentation for SCP upgrades.

Monitor the upgrade process to ensure it completes without errors.

Upgrade HCI:

After the SCP upgrade, proceed with the HCI upgrade.

Follow the recommended sequence for upgrading HCI components, such as management nodes, compute nodes, and storage nodes.

Post-Upgrade Validation:

Verify that all services are running correctly.

Test the functionality of critical applications and workloads.

Prerequisites to Check
System Requirements:

Ensure your hardware meets the minimum requirements for SCP 6.10R1 and HCI 6.10R2.

Network Configuration:

Verify that your network settings are correctly configured and that there is no connectivity issue between nodes.

Time Synchronization:

Ensure that all nodes in the cluster have synchronized system clocks using NTP.

Licensing:

Confirm that you have valid licenses for SCP 6.10R1 and HCI 6.10R2.

Staging Environment:

If possible, test the upgrade process in a staging environment before applying it to the production cluster.

Documentation:

Review the official Sangfor upgrade guides for SCP and HCI to understand the detailed steps and potential issues.

Would you like me to help you find specific Sangfor documentation or provide additional details on any of these steps?
