Creating a Custom Website Access List on Sangfor NGAF 8.0 for LAN Control 30

Asad Rafique Lv1Posted 28 Oct 2024 19:40

I am using Sangfor NGAF 8.0. I want to create a list of specific websites that will be accessible on my LAN, but I couldn't find an option for this, as Sangfor uses its own database and categories. I want to create a custom list where I can add sites to be either blocked or unblocked. Could you please provide me with a step-by-step guide on how to do this?

Here’s a step-by-step guide to creating a custom list of websites to allow or block in Sangfor NGAF 8.0:

1.Login to Sangfor NGAF:
Access the NGAF management console by logging in with your admin credentials.

2.Navigate to the Web Filtering Settings:
Go to Security Policies in the sidebar.
Select Web Filtering from the dropdown options.

3.Create a New URL Category:
In the Web Filtering page, look for an option to create a Custom URL Category (it might be under "Advanced Settings" or similar).
Add a new category, name it something like "Custom Allow List" or "Custom Block List."

4.Add Specific URLs:
Within the custom category, manually add the URLs of the websites you want to allow or block. Ensure you enter them correctly (e.g., with or without "www" as needed).

5.Set up Web Filtering Rules:
Go back to the Web Filtering main settings and locate the section to apply rules.
Create a new rule and choose the custom category you just created.
Set the rule action to Allow or Block, based on your requirement.

6.Apply the Policy and Save Changes:
Once you’ve created the rule, save and apply the changes.
Test access to the specified websites on your LAN to ensure the rule is working as expected.
