How to configure a WAN port in NSF-1050A-I

Apeiro Lv1Posted 04 Sep 2024 15:58

Hi, ALL

I would like to set up two ports for WAN and internal network usage. Please see the attachment.

We had static IP address for WAN port and different subnet for internal network

We configured IP setting, but it did not work.

Would you like to check the configuration is correct or not? or missed some setting?

Hi, please take a look at this document to get started with your firewall (the guide is about Sangofr NGAF, but the steps are almost identical on Sangfor NSF).

Pls put static routing and also NAT setting. Without routing and NAT configuration it is not possible.

I see that you have two ports; WAN and internal network. You have assigned a static IP address to the WAN port and a different subnet for the internal network. y

Please review the following settings:

Ensure that the subnet mask and gateway IP addresses are correct, check if the DNS settings are configured correctly and verify that the routing table is set up correctly to allow communication between the WAN and internal network subnets.

Thanks, everyone. Appreciate your replies. I have successfully setup the firewall.
Just a summary of what I did:
1. Configure LAN interfaces. (eth2, eth3)
2. Configure WAN interface. (eth1)
3. Configure Application control.
4. Configure SNAT.
5. Configure Static route. (next hop is the gateway provided by ISP)

You have two ports, WAN and internal network, as I can observe. You have given the internal network a distinct subnet and the WAN port a static IP address. y

Please check the settings shown below:

To enable communication between the WAN and internal network subnets, make sure the subnet mask and gateway IP addresses are accurate, examine whether the DNS settings are configured correctly, and confirm that the routing table is properly set up.
