here are some possible causes

Resource limitations:

High CPU usage: NGAF might be consuming excessive CPU resources due to heavy traffic, complex analysis, or background processes.
Insufficient RAM: The system might not have enough RAM to handle the demands of NGAF, leading to instability and hangs.
Disk space issues: Limited disk space can cause performance issues and application crashes.

Software conflicts:

Conflicting applications: Other software running on the system might interfere with NGAF, causing conflicts and hangs.
Outdated software: Using outdated versions of NGAF or its dependencies can lead to compatibility issues and stability problems.

Configuration issues:

Incorrectly configured settings: Misconfigurations in NGAF settings, such as resource limitations or security policies, can impact stability.
Hardware compatibility issues: NGAF might not be compatible with your specific hardware or drivers, leading to instability.

Other potential causes:

Network issues: Unstable network connections or high latency can impact NGAF performance and cause hangs.
Security threats: Malware or other security threats might be affecting the system and causing application instability.

Troubleshooting tips:

Check resource usage: Monitor CPU, RAM, and disk space usage to identify potential bottlenecks.
Update software: Ensure you're using the latest versions of NGAF and its dependencies.
Review configuration: Verify that NGAF settings are correct and optimized for your environment.
Check for conflicts: Identify and resolve any software conflicts that might be interfering with NGAF.
Analyze logs: Look for error messages or event logs that might provide clues about the cause of the hang.
Contact Sangfor support: If you're unable to resolve the issue yourself, reach out to Sangfor support for further assistance.

Engine Zero can find new viruses or different types of known viruses without needing samples first. Other methods usually have to wait for samples, which can take a long time.

Hi,

Hardware failure, such as power supply, fan, disk, or memory issues can cause the NGAF to hang. You can check the hardware status and indicators on the device.

overloaded resources, software bugs, configuration errors, or hardware issues. Check logs, monitor resources.

can u please elaborate more about your hang issue.
did u see any error message?

multiple reasons. have to check the logs for that particular time.

Hi, first of all, you could keep an eya about electric issues or high temperatura in your physical environment where the ngaf is installed.
If you have some layer-three switch, you could use it for routing traffic among some internal vlans in order to avoid some traffic pass throungh ngaf firewall.
Is your ngaf updated to the latest version?

Engine Zero can identify unknown viruses or new variants of known viruses without having to see samples. However, Traditional solutions need to get samples first, which can cause lag.

Next-generation firewalls (NGFWs) may experience hanging or performance issues due to several factors. One common cause is the overwhelming volume of network traffic that surpasses the device's processing capabilities, leading to delays in inspecting and filtering packets. Additionally, misconfigurations or software bugs within the NGFW firmware can result in stability issues, causing the firewall to hang or freeze. Insufficient memory or outdated hardware can also contribute to performance bottlenecks. In some cases, an excessively complex rule set or inefficient handling of specific protocols by the NGFW may strain its resources and lead to hanging. Regular updates, proper configuration, and ensuring that the NGFW hardware meets the network's demands are essential measures to prevent these performance issues.

Hi,

Many factors can affect and cause devices not only NGAF to hang. Below are some common factors:

1. Exhaustion of resources like CPU, storage, and / or memory overload
2. faulty hardware
3. software issues like bugs, configuration errors, and 3rd party software integration conflicts
4. other factors like intermittent power issues and most especially denial of service or DoS atttacks

HiHi,

There are multiple potential causes for the Sangfor NGAF to experience performance issues or hang, such as hardware issues, configuration errors, and high traffic load....etc.
In case you encounter any difficulties with your NGAF, it is advisable to seek assistance from the local technical representative.
