First of all we would like to know if the subscribed PPPoE service is using a static IP or using dynamic IP. If you subscribe static IP but still encounters on each dial-up receiving a different IP, we suggest to perform packet capture on the interface using packet capture on our web console to further inspect the proposed IP from the ISP side.

Just in case, if you subscribe static IP but find that the proposed IP is different from the packet we suggest you check with the ISP side. During the check process, if you encounter any difficulties you are welcome to reach out to us via email at tech.support@sangfor.com for assistance.

Last but not least, if you subscribed dynamic IP PPPoE service it was normal to receive different IPs on each dial-up.

If Sangfor device has no fixed public IP address, you can use WebAgent to discover IP address. 6. Go to System > SSL VPN Options > General > Client Options

Unstable network conditions, intermittent connectivity issues, or line noise could also contribute to PPPoE sessions dropping and reconnecting.

Occasionally, ISPs perform maintenance or upgrades that can result in temporary changes to IP addresses. Check with your ISP for any ongoing maintenance activities.

Check for any session timeout settings in your PPPoE configuration or on the ISP's side. If there are short timeouts configured, it may lead to frequent IP address changes.

Some ISPs may have policies that cause IP address changes, especially if they detect irregular network activity or if they use address pooling techniques. Contact your ISP to discuss your IP address stability requirements.

Ensure that your NSF is configured correctly for PPPoE. Check the configuration settings, including whether it's set to obtain a dynamic IP address from the ISP. If a static IP address is required, make sure the correct settings are in place.

The PPPoE session might be terminating and re-establishing for various reasons, causing a change in the assigned IP address. Check the logs or status information on your NSF for any indications of PPPoE session drops or re-establishments.

The ISP may have configured their systems to provide dynamic IP addresses to PPPoE connections. If this is the case, you might need to contact your ISP to inquire about the possibility of obtaining a static IP address if your requirements demand a consistent public IP.

Some ISPs (Internet Service Providers) use dynamic IP address assignment for PPPoE connections. In this case, your public IP address can change each time you establish a new PPPoE connection. Check with your ISP to confirm whether they use dynamic or static IP addressing for your PPPoE connection.
