There are two ways to update the patches
by GUI and By Command Line
in GUI go to the System then Maintenance tab then backup your firewall configuration

go to Service Pack
Service pack getting method

Method 1 if  NGAF has internet access  click check for updates and install
NGAF will load new service packs automatically when internet is accessible.

Method 2   NGAF does not have internet access, but a local computer has internet access
Visit Sangfor SP Server using your browser to view SP information. To install SPs, download them from SP Server and install them by uploading manually on NGAF manager.

Method 3
If you Neither NGAF nor local computers have internet access then engage Sangfor technical support team

after update recommended is to restart your NGAF

For standard and best practice, you need to follow the instructions based on the release notes. Usually for minor upgrades (example: 6.x to 6.x), you can directly upgrade to 6.1 to 6.3.. for major release (ex: 4.x to 6.x), you have to upgrade it first from 4.x to 5.x then upgrade to 6.x.

Recommendation is to follow the instructions based on the release notes. You also need to backup your configuration before doing the upgrade so you can revert it back in case you encounter any issues

First of all backup the firewall configuration and system settings to ensure a safe rollback option if needed. Then, schedule a maintenance window to minimize disruption, notifying stakeholders about potential downtime. Implement updates following Sangfor's recommended procedures, which might involve downloading the patch, applying it through the firewall's management interface, and rebooting if necessary. To mitigate potential issues, testing the patch in a lab environment before production deployment can be beneficial. Additionally, having a contingency plan, such as a rollback strategy or contacting Sangfor support in case of unexpected issues, helps ensure a smooth update process and quick resolution of any complications.
