Management network and Edge network on same LACP link aggregate problem

Dennis Kwong Lv1  Posted 2026-Oct-22 09:20

The server has two 10Gb fiber ports and connect  Huawei switch . On switch side configured 2 ports as Eth-Trunk using LACP (static mode), then I created link aggregation (base on Mac address mode) on Sangfor HCI server, link aggregation name is Agg0, I only config management network on Agg0 that  is no problem , but when I add  Edge network on Agg0 , then  I can't connect management , what problem on this config ?

HCI version : HCI6.11.3
Agg0 configuration : LACP ( Based on MAC address )

Hi Dennis, I would check these points first:

1. **Aggregation mode:** Your Huawei Eth-Trunk uses LACP, so verify that Agg0 on Sangfor HCI is configured in LACP mode, not static aggregation. MAC-based load balancing is a separate setting.
2. **Network roles:** Check whether your HCI version supports sharing the same aggregate interface between Management and Physical Edge networks. Follow the version-specific multiplexing procedure rather than assigning both roles directly.
3. **VLAN configuration:** Verify the Management and Edge VLAN IDs, PVID, and trunk settings on the Huawei switch and HCI port groups.
4. **Check LACP status:** On Huawei, run `display eth-trunk <ID>` and confirm the Eth-Trunk is up and both member ports are selected.

Since Management works before Edge is added, I would verify the HCI network-role configuration first.

Could you share your HCI version and the Agg0 configuration mode? That would help narrow down the cause.

The likely issue is a network configuration conflict or switch-side LACP configuration mismatch when the Edge network is added to Agg0.
