Trouble using SCMP/SCMT

Newbie698849 Lv1Posted Feb-23-2026 23:56

I'm trying to use SCMP/SCMT to migrate vms. I'm having trouble because it says the licence has been expired since 2025-9-30. I even got a POC licence. And despite this, it still says the licence is expired.

i'm trying to use SCMP/SCMT, because i'm getting an authentication failed error when trying to migrate vms from vmware using scp migration tool.

Hi u need a patch from sangfor for the license expiry bug. Usually they put the patch in community but lately not updated. So request directly from them

Hi, aside from the license I also upload the SMT update in zip file given by Sangfor. Are you able to upload both and experience the same issue?

If you plan to migrate your existing legacy system to the Sangfor platform, you must be prepared to handle any potential implications—either temporary or permanent—depending on how your current systems and infrastructure are structured.

1. Choosing Sangfor as the Primary Platform
When Sangfor is selected as the main platform to replace your legacy system (e.g., VMware), the following preparations should already be in place:

Infrastructure planning specifically designed for the Sangfor environment
DR/backup strategy that aligns with Sangfor’s architecture
A clear and well-defined migration schedule

These preparations are essential to ensure that the actual migration process runs smoothly without unexpected disruptions.

2. If Sangfor Already Exists as a POC → Now Moving to Production
If Sangfor has already been used as a Proof of Concept (POC) and you plan to transition it into a production system:

You can activate or apply the official Sangfor license that has been purchased
This allows your POC system to be converted into a production-ready environment
No need to reinstall or redeploy the entire platform

This approach saves time, reduces risks, and allows you to proceed with production deployment more efficiently.

3. If the License Has Been Purchased but Not Yet Received
In cases where the purchase has been made but the official license key has not yet been issued, and you need to proceed with migration urgently:

You may contact the respective vendor or principal
Request for a temporary license so the system can operate until the official license is available

This is common practice when project timelines require immediate progression.

4. Extending the POC Period
If you need additional time to continue using Sangfor as a POC:

You can also reach out to the vendor or principal
Request for an extension or temporary license to continue the evaluation period

This ensures continued system access without causing delays to your testing or planning phases.
