Storage stuck alert on HCI and SCP

Hi All.

Is there anyone ever facing issue like this, on SCP and HCI there is alert event Storage stuck with descritption The latency is high when the node (NODENAME) accesses the datastore (DATASTORE NAME)'s disk (sdab). Please check the storage device or storage network.

how ever the datastore seems to be healthy, i am using external Dell PowerStore 1200T for this.

In HCI, alerts will be triggered for disk issues such as busy storage IO, excessive storage IO latency, storage usage exceeding thresholds, disconnection between storage and host, abnormal storage status, and abnormal RAID status.

The alert you mentioned about high latency when accessing the datastore indicates that the system has detected excessive storage IO latency, which is one of the disk issues that trigger alerts in the HCI console. Although the datastore appears healthy, this alert suggests there might be underlying issues with the storage device or storage network that need to be checked.

Additionally, low I/O performance on external storage, such as your Dell PowerStore 1200T, can often be caused by line issues or read/write problems with the storage itself. It is recommended to verify network connections and the storage device’s health to resolve the high-latency alert.
It is suggested to use the Sangfor Checks tool to run a regular health check for your devices. Click the following link to install the tool.

"High latency when node accesses datastore disk (sdab)”
This does not mean your datastore has failed. It means the HCI/SCP node experienced slow I/O response times from the PowerStore at certain moments. Because the issue is latency (delay) and not loss of connectivity, the datastore can still appear healthy.

Since you're using Dell PowerStore 1200T external storage, the issue is usually in the storage network path, not the storage pool itself.

Hi Mates

In Sangfor HCI you can try checking the health of hard disks in a cluster environment.
You can use the aCheck tool, which performs device software health status checks including hardware checks such as hard disk health report includes device stability checks such as hard disk health, disk space, and other hardware health indicators.
This process perform to helps identify potential risks and ensures device stability across the cluster

Other way you must ensuring the physical server level is healthy helps rule out hardware causes before further virtual storage troubleshooting.
