Application Control is a powerful feature that enhances the security posture of your organization by managing application usage on endpoints. As a sub-admin, you will need to collaborate with a Super Admin to ensure you have the necessary permissions to implement and manage these controls effectively. If you have any further questions or need assistance with specific configurations, feel free to ask!

How to Use Application Control

To utilize the Application Control feature, follow these steps:

1. Accessing Application Control:
- Navigate to the Application Control settings in the EPP interface. For example, in the standard version Endpoint Secure 6.0.2R1, you can find it under `[Security Protection]-[App Control]-[Application Blacklists]`.

2. Creating a Blacklist:
- To block an application, you need to know its process name. You can add this process name to the blacklist.
- For example, in Endpoint Secure 3.7.12R2, you can configure this in `[Endpoints Control]-[Behaviour Control]-[App Control]-[Blacklist]
`.

3. Adding Custom Applications:
- If the application you want to control is not in the library, you can create a custom application signature. This can be done by entering details such as the original file name or process name under `[Security Protection]-[App Control]-[Application Signatures]-[Custom Software]`.

4. Monitoring and Adjusting Policies:

- Regularly monitor the effectiveness of your application control policies. You may need to adjust the blacklist or add new custom applications as necessary.

In Endpoint Secure, you can monitor how many times a software has been used, for how long, and on how many devices it is installed. In addition, you receive alerts when a license expires, unauthorized software is used, or when there are insufficient licenses.
