Hi all, I am currently using Sangfor NGFW 8.0.23 and was wondering how to update the current SSL Users with Mac-address of their notebooks? I am planning to use hardware ID as authentication and I have 1000 SSL vpn users to update.
Appreciate any help.

Thanks
Eric

You can follow these detailed steps:

Step 1: Prepare User Information
1. Gather MAC Addresses: Collect the MAC addresses of the notebooks for all 1000 SSL VPN users. Ensure that you have the correct MAC addresses as they will be used for authentication.

Step 2: Configure Authentication Policy
1. Access the NGFW Console: Log in to your Sangfor NGFW device console.
2. Navigate to User Management:
- Go to [Network] > [SSL VPN] > [Local Users].
3. Create or Update Users:
- For each user, you will need to either create a new user or update an existing user.
- When creating/updating a user, set the username to the MAC address of the notebook.
- Ensure that you select the option for Hardware ID authentication.

Step 3: Enable Hardware ID Authentication
1. Enable Hardware ID Authentication:
- Navigate to [Network] > [SSL VPN] > [Authentication].
- Select Enable hardware ID based authentication and configure the related parameters, including whether automatic approval is needed.
2. Add Users:
- In [Network] > [SSL VPN] > [Local Users], add each user as a private user and check the Hardware ID authentication option.

Step 4: Manual Approval (if necessary)
1. Automatic Approval:
- If you have enabled automatic approval, the hardware IDs will be approved automatically.
2. Manual Approval:
- If automatic approval is not enabled, you will need to manually approve each hardware ID after adding the users.

Step 5: Verification
1. Check User Configuration:
- After updating all users, verify that the MAC addresses are correctly configured and that hardware ID authentication is enabled for each user.
2. Test Authentication:
- Conduct a test login with a user to ensure that the hardware ID authentication is functioning as expected.
