Dear Sangfor Community, is there anyway to factory reset the firewall without password & the firmware update license? I have tried to use the Sangfor Firmware Updater but it will always fail and disconnect me from it. The current firmware version of the unit is v7.1.97 EN R1 B Build20161114. I have tried to find the firmware file online but to no avail. Is there any other way? I'm basically locked out from the firewall as the previous IT has enabled local authentication w/o providing me the credentials for it.

HiHi,

You can reset your Admin password using a USB.

And please check your device licenses, which are primarily used to control the functionalities of the device.
They are categorized into: Network License, Security Capabilities and Updates, Cloud Service Subscription, Software Upgrade.
Is this answer helpful?

Hi, you can reset it using a USB/Flash drive.

Create an empty text file named reset-password.txt in the root directory of the USB drive.

Insert the USB drive into either of the USB ports located on the front side of the NGAF where the Ethernet ports are, then restart your NGAF.

Once the NGAF can successfully log on to the Web User Interface, remove the USB drive.

Check the reset-password.txt file on the USB drive. If the recovery was successful, the restored password will be recorded in the file (logs created). If unsuccessful, the log will contain information about the recovery failure.
