Ubuntu problem with apt-get install update problem

gleon Lv1Posted 23 Aug 2024 01:50

Good morning, I have the following problem when I create Linux virtual machines, specifically Ubuntu Linux, the computer does not connect to the repositories, which is why I cannot install anything. My servers can see the internet, but they cannot download packages from the repositories. I thought it was an image error, so I uploaded an Ubuntu ISO, but it does not finish installing because the installation does not see the repositories either.

W: Failed to fetch http://ve.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/jammy/InRelease  Connection failed [IP: 200.236.31.4 80]
W: Failed to fetch http://ve.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/jammy-updates/InRelease  Connection failed [IP: 200.236.31.4 80]
W: Failed to fetch http://ve.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/jammy-backports/InRelease  Connection failed [IP: 200.236.31.4 80]
W: Failed to fetch http://ve.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/jammy-security/InRelease  Connection failed [IP: 200.236.31.4 80]
W: Failed to fetch http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/focal/InRelease  Connection failed [IP: 91.189.91.82 80]
W: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

I tried whit different repositories , configuring resolv.conf open the ports in the firewall an the problem still.

Any sugestión?
Thanks

HiHi,

You can try enabling "Pass-Through" mode in IAG to test your Ubuntu update issue.
Please refer to below for instructions on how to enable Pass-Through mode on IAG.

Reviewing your update issue, I noticed many users reported the same problem.
You can search on Google to take a look; it may help you.
Is this answer helpful?

hi, you are using latest ubuntu release? if yes, i suppose that the issue is on a IAG policy that filter out the traffic on port 80. Please create an allow policy ion IAG to allow outgoing traffic to this virtual machine's ip and retry ubuntu updates.

From your Ubuntu VM, try pinging an external server to verify connectivity. For example:
ping 8.8.8.8
ping google.com
If pinging IP addresses works but domain names do not, it's likely a DNS issue.
