When migrating workloads to Sangfor HCI, one of the first decisions is whether to perform a Cold Migration or a Hot (Live) Migration. Each method offers different advantages depending on your business requirements, maintenance window, and acceptable downtime.

  • Choose Hot (Live) Migration when minimizing downtime is critical and business services must remain online during the migration.


SCMT Hot Backup Migration enhances traditional live migration by leveraging Continuous Data Protection (CDP), ensuring that block-level changes are continuously synchronized until the final cutover, significantly reducing downtime while maintaining data integrity.
