for HCI 6.8.0 edit VM setting and setup guest OS as Linux Kernel 5.X

Utilize full disk encryption along with LVM? If so, I had the same issue when installing on a PC with an i5 processor, 16 GB of RAM, and an SSD SATA disk. Without complete disk encryption, LVM installation worked without any problems.
I've learned from the internet that copying to LVM+full disk encryption may have problems if there are large files to write (which typically happens during operating system installation). The I/O performance may suffer, giving the impression that the system is freezing.

Some of the OS processes may not be installing properly. Kindly check with another version of Ubuntu.

Are you using LVM + fulldisk encryption? if yes, I have the same experience when installing on PC i5 with 16G RAM and SSD SATA disk. Installing using LVM without fulldisk encryption was fine and not found any issue of it.
I read from the internet, writing a big file-size (usually happen on installation operating system) could be the issuen when copying to LVM+fulldisk encryption, I/O performance will decrease and make it look like freeze.
