Summary:

Hi, I'm trying to perform an agentless backup with VInchin using our Sangfor SCP console as the backup source. Everything seems to work, but I noticed transfer speeds of around 85-90 MB/s, indicating ...

No. You can’t (and shouldn’t) modify the SCP VM to act like a 10Gb data interface. SCP is a management VM, and its virtual NIC and internal design limit real backup throughput to around 1 Gbps, even in a 10GbE environment.

Adding a physical 10Gb NIC to SCP also won’t properly solve it and isn’t recommended.

Solution:
Don’t use SCP as the backup data path. Configure Vinchin to back up directly from the HCI hosts (CVK nodes) over a 10Gb network. SCP should only handle control/API tasks, not the actual backup traffic.

You cannot change SCP vNIC type, Set vNIC speed to 10Gb, Add additional high-speed NICs.

Yes, NIC could be the cause. There are two methods to improve the backup speed.
1. Add a virtual NIC to VInchin server and map it to the backup network segment on SCP.
2. Go to Sangfor SCP, find Backup & CDP > Settings > Interface for Backup Data Transfer in LAN. Set the data transmission network port as the dedicated port.
