The error "image transfer failed" during a Sangfor local backup copy to a new repository indicates an issue with transferring the backup data.

Here are some troubleshooting steps you can take:

Network Connectivity:

Verify Network Stability: As the error message suggests, prioritize checking your network connection. Ensure a stable and reliable connection exists between the Sangfor appliance and the new repository location.
Test Network Communication: Try pinging the new repository from the Sangfor appliance to confirm reachability.
Network Bandwidth: If the network is congested, the transfer might be slow or fail entirely. Consider scheduling the backup during off-peak hours or throttling bandwidth usage for the transfer task.

The error "Image transfer failed. Please check whether the network is stable. Error Code: 0x01003449" typically indicates a connectivity issue or timeout during the transfer process. While the network speed is adequate at 1 Gbps, ensure that there are no intermittent network issues causing disruptions during the transfer. Check for any firewall or security settings that might be affecting the transfer. Additionally, verify if there are any bandwidth restrictions or timeout settings configured on either the source or destination repositories. Adjusting these settings or ensuring stable network connectivity can often resolve such transfer failures in HCI environments managed with SCP (Secure Copy Protocol).

The error "Image transfer failed. Please check whether the network is stable." with error code 0x01003449 typically indicates a timeout issue. In v6.9.1, SCP (Secure Copy) has a default timeout of 300 seconds (5 minutes) for image transfers. To increase this timeout, you can edit the `transport.config` file located at `C:\ProgramData\VMware\VMware Virtual SAN\transport` on theHCI appliance. Look for the `<scp>` section and increase the `timeout` value in seconds. For example, to set it to 30 minutes, add `<scp timeout="1800" />`. Restart the VASA Provider service after making this change to apply the new settings. This should help resolve the timeout issue and allow the image transfer to complete successfully.

Hi, you can adjust these settings about speed and concurrency in your hci

Hi,
Try to do some troubleshooting on the path where the file is transfered, like with ICMP testing and traceroute to check if the paths are the same o both directions, in case this goes throw some firewall.

Hi,

This error message "Image transfer failed. Please check whether the network is unstable" (Error Code: 0x01003449) suggests a network issue interrupting your local backup transfer to a new repository.

You may try below:

1. Network Connectivity:
   - check physical cabling and connectivity. loose connection can cause poor connectivity and data transfer interruptions.
   - If using Wi-Fi, make sure that you have a strong and stable signal
   - try to do network connectivity test

2. Destination Repository:

   - make sure that the destination repository has enough free space to accommodate the entire backup.
   - verify that your user account has the necessary permissions to write data to the destination repository.
   - If the repository is on a remote server, ensure the server is reachable and operational. Try pinging the server's IP address to verify connectivity.

3. Backup Software:
   - most of the time, restarting the backup service can resolve temporary glitches.
   - check if you are using the latest version. Updates often contain bug fixes and stability improvements.

The error code 0x01003449 and the message "Image transfer failed. Please check whether the network is stable" suggest that there may be issues beyond network speed, such as network stability or interruptions. In HCI version 6.9.1 managed with SCP, you should check for bandwidth limitations or timeout settings within your system configuration or SCP management interface. Ensure that there are no packet loss issues, and verify that both repositories are configured correctly.

The error you’re encountering, “Image transfer failed. Please check whether the network is stable,” with error code 0x01003449, can be frustrating. Given that your network speed is 1Gbps, the issue might not be with the speed but could be related to other network stability factors or settings.

Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:

Check Network Stability: Even with a 1Gbps connection, intermittent network issues can cause transfer failures. Ensure that there are no packet losses or network interruptions during the transfer.
Bandwidth Requirements: Verify if there are any bandwidth limitations or Quality of Service (QoS) settings on your network that might be affecting the transfer.
Timeout Settings: Check the timeout settings in your Sangfor HCI configuration. Sometimes, increasing the timeout value can help in completing large transfers.
Logs and Diagnostics: Review the logs for any additional error messages or warnings that might give more insight into the issue. This can help pinpoint whether the problem is with the network, storage, or the HCI system itself.

Hi,

VM group is not changed after recovery. It prefers the destination datastore that has access to a node and to backup repository at the same time, to achieve rapid recovery. It prefers the original datastore, to keep business network unchanged.
