HCI OS Install on software raid 1

Hunters Lv1Posted 20 Jan 2020 18:01

Hi to all,
we'd like to know if there is a way to install the HCI OS in a redundant way that do not require a Hardware RAID controller. For example using 2 HDD in software raid built directly from Sangfor. We are configuring a new cluster (using 6.0 version) on 4 DELL R620 servers that have only PERC S110 raid controller (software raid) that is not recognized from the Sangfor Linux OS (it still see single disks even if the RAID1 is built on the controller). So we'd like to remove the RAID1 from the S110 controller and use disks as non raid (if there is no way to let Sangfor Linux OS to see the S110 Software RAID1) and install the HCI in a self redundant way with Linux software RAID1. This is quite important so we will not loose the node in case of OS disk failure.
Or if there is a quick OS disk replacement system inside HCI to quick restore a node with all its configurations in case of OS disk failure.
Thank you
Regards
Marcello
